Saint Rita is the patron saint of abused women and children.
Also known as Saint Rita of Cascia, she was an Italian nun who was revered for her abilities to resolve disputes and bring peace. She is most often depicted with a crucifix which during her lifetime she received a partial stigmata on her forehead which never healed.
Saint Rita's Feast Day is May 22nd.
