Candle Burning Tips

Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings, or other flammable materials. Keep burning candles and hot wax materials out of reach of children and pets.

For continuous burning candles, find a safe place to burn such as outdoor grill, fireplace, bathtub, sink, fireproof pot or container. Avoid placement of candles near any flammable or combustibles such as, but not limited to, gasoline, paint, tobacco, household products, fabrics, or any product containing an accelerant such as room spray or hair spray.

It is recommended a BBQ pit be used only in cooler weather to avoid the wax becoming too hot.

Do not leave unburned candles inside a vehicle for more than an hour, especially during hot weather. If this should accidentally occur, it is helpful to place them inside a refrigerator or freezer until the wax hardens.

When burning more than one candle, such as in a group, leave 4-6 inches of space between each candle to avoid too much heat which will cause the wax to become too warm and not burn properly.   When a candle's wax becomes too warm, it will liquify before the wick has a chance to burn it off.  The result is the wick will "drown", and the flame will not stay lit.  This happens frequently in hot weather conditions.  It is always recommended to burn in a cool and dry location.

Once candles are lit, it is recommended they remain in the originally chosen spot as movement will result in softened wax causing the wick to move to the side of the jar and even burning will not occur. In some instances, movement will cause the wick to “drown”, burn black down the side of the jar, and/or candle dressing to move to the bottom of the jar. In any case, avoid movement AND allowing heat to build in and around the glass jar.

Do NOT under any circumstances place paper inside the candle jar or pushed down inside the wax. When this occurs, the paper becomes a second wick and the candle will not burn properly, or fire hazard can occur.

We also recommend trimming the wick so it is level with the top of the glass jar before lighting. Too low or too high will not result in proper initial burn.

We take care to offer only candle products made with high quality ingredients which provide a clean burn with minimum smoke. With proper burning practices, you will receive optimum results.

It is our intention with these tips for you to obtain the best results from your investment, intentions, time, and prayers. As always, should you have any questions, we stand ready to help.
