Since the beginning of time, there are certain periods during a span of one year, when the various planets appear to be spinning backwards instead of forwards. All planets "retrograde"; however, not as frequently as Mercury, but often for longer periods of time. Because Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, it has three annual periods consisting of approximately three weeks each when it is "retrograde". In view of this frequency, we are more influenced with Mercury's retrogrades, because it reminds us to stop and assess the effects of these periods as it brings mixed signals and misunderstandings along with difficult communications; reminds us of unfinished business; and returns people from our past. It is a bad time to start new things or projects or enter into contracts. It is a good time to plan and research for forward progress.
